“Arne Jacobsen is a master’s master,” said Wayne Guy, owner of the LA home furnishing store. “He inspired a number of other Danish designers and won awards and acclaim from each field of design he worked in.”

Jacobsen’s first award was for furniture design in 1925 at the Paris Art Deco fair. From there, he launched a career that spanned the globe. His first work that was ground-up his own was the Bellevue Sea Bath. He even designed the uniforms the employees wore. His magnum opus, the SAS Royal Hotel, was created between 1956 and 1960. It is called the world’s first designer hotel. He is most known today for his work with furniture.

“Arne Jacobsen understood everything about design. He worked with wood, metal and fabrics to deliver creations that set new standards. He worked each piece with a specific reason and a specific room in mind. His ability to envision an entire building and design everything from the floor plan to the wallpaper proves his genius,” Mr. Guy said.

Denmark 50, LA’s premier furniture importer, carries vintage furniture from Danish designers who built under the watchful eye of Jacobsen. “These works of art belong in the best homes and reflect the discriminating eye the homeowner has for quality, craftsmanship and a demand for only the best”, Mr. Guy said.

“Each piece on the showroom floor comes right from Denmark and right from studios which operated under the auspices of Arne Jacobsen. This furniture represents quintessential Danish design. People who insist on excellence will be well pleased with it,” he said
