Learning languages can be difficult if you try to study them in the traditional way. A new Tedx Talk inspired app promises to help make learning a new language easier than ever.

The world seems to be getting smaller and smaller now that communication has been modernized through advanced technology. As we head toward a true Global community, the need for knowing a second language has become evident. But, learning a second language is something that requires so much time and effort it is daunting for most folks. Now there is a solution. The new “Now Let’s Talk SLAPPS! App” is revolutionizing the process of learning a new language. It’s developer Michael Lusardi says they can easily make you bilingual by teaching language the “smart” way.
Michael Lusardi realized there was a better way to learn a second language when he came across an inspirational TedX talk on YouTube. The speaker, Benny Lewis, suggests that actually speaking a language immediately is the fastest way to learn. Lusardi decided to create an app that would help interested individuals learn a second language in this simple and authentic way by instantly connecting people via video for real conversations.
“Users begin speaking the language and practicing almost immediately,” said Lusardi. “Native speakers will be able to understand and assist the learners with grammatical corrections as students progress. Small things like verb tenses, agreement and more are assimilated in a natural way.”
Traditionally, schools teach languages by focusing on grammar and vocabulary beforespeaking and reading. This, according to the app developers, is the wrong way to learn a new language. The app instead teaches language the same way a user learns language as a child. Children do not start learning grammar and complex structures as they begin to speak. They learn through listening, vocalizing, trial and error.
Lusardi realizes this app will have incredible potential for anyone interested in languages. Business people, schoolteachers and those who love to travel will certainly find this app to be a key to bridging communication.
The app will require intensive research and development as well as native language speakers to get it launched. It is a monumental task, and this is why Lusardi has turned to crowdfunding on Indiegogo for help with his “Now Let’s Talk SLAPPS! App” project.
“It is our goal to produce this app as soon as possible, but the more who will help support our efforts, the better and faster the app will make it to markets,” said Lusardi.
Each donor level offers first-in-line opportunities to help with the app and its creation. The highest contributors will even have a voice in the additions and updates to the app after Beta testing.
