“Science has absolutely proven over and over and over that a human body must have certain vitamins, minerals and other nutrients to live. While the effects of eating well have been known for millennia, the idea that a body MUST have certain things was first seriously studied when sailors developed a condition called Scurvy; Scurvy means your body doesn’t have enough vitamin C,” he said. “People discovered that eating citrus, high in vitamin C, prevented this. Form there, medical experts launched more examinations diet and health.”

Dr. Liebowitz clinic in LA has offered intravenous vitamins and nutrient infusions. The doctor studies the effects of this on his patients. So far, he’s been impressed.

“We are seeing strong responses by the body’s immunological system. The body’s ability to fight disease, recover from illness, surgery and even recover from chemotherapy is increased,” he said.

The clinic offers B vitamins, B12, low to high dose Vitamin C, and Glutathione.

“We’ve know for years that certain B-complex vitamins given by injection provide an energy boost. We’re seeing that boost and more with the intravenous vitamins and nutrient infusions,” he said.

The idea of putting vitamin C into an IV was first scientifically proposed by chemist Linus Pauling, a two-time winner of the Nobel Prize. He believed this would be effective at treating viral infections and cancer. A report in the Annals of Internal Medicine from April 2004 tested this. IV vitamins C proved more effective than oral vitamin C.

As this kind of therapy gained more acceptance, physicians began to add other vital elements to the intravenous vitamins and nutrient infusions. Dr. Leibowitz said this is proving very beneficial for his patients.

He explained the intravenous vitamins and nutrient infusions can replace minerals that may have been depleted by poor dietary habits, pollution, stress, medical treatments and intestinal malabsorption.

“In short, if you think the environment and your eating habits are affecting your health in adverse ways, then you are probably a good candidate for intravenous vitamins and nutrient infusions,” he said. “We can run a few tests to tell you for sure if this is a right procedure for you.”
