xTeros’ Shop Insurance App Exiting Stealth Mode Due to High Consumer Demand

Bethesda, Maryland /  xTeros announced today that it is exiting stealth mode due to unexpected consumer demand for their Shop Insurance app. The Shop Insurance app introduces a new way to Shop for health insurance, changing the focus from balancing low premiums vs high deductibles, to a focus on knowing your overall Out-Of-Pocket costs before you buy.

The free web app analyzes health plans across Federal and State exchanges and eHealth, the largest online insurance broker, to help users Shop Insurance plans based on their actual health expenses, rather than lowest monthly premium.  A simple toggle button allows a user to immediately evaluate the cost difference between choosing plans by lowest premium versus lowest out-of-pocket costs.

CEO William Wynn states:

“Our initial plan was to quietly release individual apps without fanfare, while we focused on delivering a mature suite of tools in Q3 2015.  Traffic to our Shop Insurance app has been far beyond what we could have hoped from a stealth launch. It is obvious that the app successfully addresses a real need.  I started the company to help others overcome frustrations we all have had. So, we are adjusting plans and formally launching our Shop Insurance app, so that all Americans can benefit from the application through the remaining Open Season.”
